Beaches in Menorca, guide of the best beaches and coves in Menorca.
Also known as : Platja de Mongofre
Savinar de Mongofre or Platja de Mongofre is a beautiful golden natural beach located in the protected area of s'Albufera d'es Grau. It is owned by the Rubió Tudurí foundation, but they have rented it for 30 years and we do not know if permission can be requested at some point to access in some simple way from land. The cove is absolutely beautiful with the typical orange colors of several sites of the north of Menorca and that there is not in any other island of the Balearics. We recommend access from the sea.
Length = 140 m , Width = 160 m .
During the summer of 2018 you can not access the Favàritx Lighthouse road, it must be accessed only by bus from Mahón. There are 13 daily departures from Maó, every hour and a half, between 9:00 and 19:30. Here the schedules and the location of where they leave: https://goo.gl/kNp92U It will be a measure until they enable parking in the area. Since 2017 the farm is rented and does not allow access on foot from the foundation. On foot you can only access by deviating from the Camí de Cavalls 1 km by private land (we do not recommend it). It is difficult to arrive also coasting by the previous coves, but not very difficult for fit people and accustomed to long excursions. We recommend to take mobile devices continuously checking the location on a map or better, arriving by boat.
